A driver called us at 6:40 on a Tuesday morning, pulled off at the Glenns Ferry rest area with no air pressure and a load due in Pocatello by noon. Bad governor on the air compressor. We were on the road inside thirty minutes with the part and had him rolling again before nine. That is what semi truck repair Jerome Idaho looks like on our end — answer the phone, show up, and fix the truck so the load gets delivered.
Owner operators and small fleets running the Magic Valley do not have time for guesswork. The freight has a delivery window, the hours of service clock is ticking, and the truck is the business. We treat semi work that way: clear diagnosis, honest timeline, no padding the invoice.
Mobile roadside repair
We cover breakdown hotspots up and down the I-84 corridor between Boise and Pocatello — Mountain Home, Glenns Ferry, Bliss, Jerome, Twin Falls, Burley, Heyburn. On US-93 we run as far north as Shoshone and south past the Twin Falls truck stops. The Eastland Drive industrial zone in Twin Falls and the truck stops at exits 168 and 173 see us regularly.
Common roadside calls:
- Air system — governor, compressor, lines, leaks, dryer issues.
- Electrical — no-start, charging system, alternators, batteries, lighting.
- Brakes — slack adjusters, chambers, hoses, drum work when we can do it on the side of the road.
- Cooling — hoses, belts, water pumps, thermostat work.
- Fuel system — filters, water in fuel, lift pump, gelled fuel in winter.
- Aftertreatment limp-mode diagnostics — get you legal and rolling to a shop if a full repair is not roadside-friendly.
If the repair needs a lift, a press, or parts we don't carry on the service truck, we'll tell you and help arrange a tow to our shop or the nearest dealer that can do the work.
In-shop heavy duty service
Our Jerome bay handles full Class 7 and 8 work — air brake jobs, suspension and bushing work, drive axle service, cooling system overhauls, electrical and lighting, charging system repair, DPF and DEF diagnostics, and annual DOT inspections. We work on Cummins ISX and X15, Detroit DD13 and DD15, Paccar MX-11 and MX-13, and older CAT C15 trucks that are still earning their miles.
Reefer trailers and refrigerated freight come with their own problems. For trailer brakes, lights, wheel seals, and reefer unit diagnostics, see our trailer and reefer repair page. For engine-specific diagnostic and emissions work on diesels across the board, our diesel repair side covers the details.
Why the I-84 corridor needs a real shop
The stretch of I-84 from Boise to Pocatello is one of the busiest freight runs in southern Idaho. Add in the US-93 traffic coming up from Nevada, the agricultural freight moving in and out of the dairies and processing plants, and the seasonal harvest hauls, and you get a lot of trucks running a lot of miles in country that is hard on equipment. Winter cold, summer heat, dust off the dry farms, and long grades all add up.
Most owner operators we work with do not want a dealer experience. They want a shop that will take the call, give a straight answer about what is wrong, and turn the truck around without three days of scheduling around a service writer. That is what we try to be.
Booking and scheduling
For scheduled in-shop work, call ahead and we'll get you on the books. For roadside, call and tell us where you are and what the truck is doing — we'll give you a realistic ETA and what it will cost to come out. For a broader look at the heavy-duty equipment we work on, see vehicles we service.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you do roadside service on I-84?
Yes. We run mobile service for Class 7 and 8 trucks broken down on I-84 between Boise and Pocatello, on US-93, and at the truck stops around Jerome and Twin Falls. Call us and we'll tell you honestly whether we can come out or whether a tow makes more sense.
What heavy duty work do you do in-shop?
Most things short of frame rebuilds and major drivetrain overhauls — air systems, brakes, suspension, electrical, lighting, DPF and aftertreatment, charging systems, cooling, and routine PM service. For specialty engine rebuilds we'll point you to the right shop.
Can you do DOT inspections and pre-trip work?
Yes. We do annual DOT inspections, pre-trip checks, brake adjustments, light and reflector work, and the small repairs that keep a truck legal and on the road.
What engines do you service?
Cummins ISX, X15, ISB, ISC; Detroit DD13 and DD15; Paccar MX-11 and MX-13; CAT C15 on older trucks. Diagnostics, sensor and aftertreatment work, charging and starting systems, and the usual on-highway repairs.
How fast can you get me back on the road?
For roadside work, most repairs are same-day. For in-shop work it depends on parts — sensor and air system jobs are usually one day, larger jobs two to five days. We give a realistic timeline before we start.
Do you take fleet accounts and major fuel cards?
Yes. Talk to us about fleet billing, and ask about our fleet services program for scheduled maintenance and priority scheduling for trucks based in or running through the Magic Valley.
